DOCUMENT TITLE: Trademark registration to L. Ron Hubbard: "Scientology," Ser. No. 72334771 SUBJECT: Registration of trademark "Scientology," Ser. No 72334771, for goods and services category of "bulletins, books and newsletter." PARTIES: Purportedly, L. Ron Hubbard BACKGROUND AND NOTES On 1 September 1970 the word mark "Scientology" for "Bulletins, books and newsletters" is registered in Washington, D.C. to "L. Ron Hubbard, individual United States," listed as residing at "1812 19th St., NW. Washington, D.C." (There is a note in the record of an earlier transaction the same year, 1 June 1970: "Amended Sup. Reg.") This trademark is one of the key controlling marks that will eventually become part of a fraudulent trademark "assignment" to Religious Training Center (RTC) on 10 May 1982, which is why RTC is listed in the record as the current owner. In fact, controlling commercial interest in the marks were entirely retained with the Hubbard estate when the "assignment" took place. (Our report on the trademarks fully covers how the fraud was accomplished, and why the Trademark Office records don't accurately reflect the whole truth.) Those commercial rights and interests retained for the estate in these vital marks will become part of Author's Family Trust-B, later to be transferred by order of IRS to the IRS-controlled Church of Spiritual Technology (CST). There is no indication of who executed this registration, or what precipitated its registration; Hubbard, at the time, is supposedly on the Flag ship Apollo in Madiera, Spain, thousands of miles away.
