DOCUMENT TITLE: Meade Emory buys second most expensive house sold in Washington, D.C.
SUBJECT: House purchase by Meade Emory
PARTIES: Meade Emory

BACKGROUND AND NOTES

This excerpt from a Washington Post article on house sales in Washington, D.C. demonstrates that Emory purchased a house that was the second most expensive one listed for the first week in May of 1977 The most expensive went for $110,000. Although the purchase amount seems modest, these were 1977 dollars. This is indicative of windfall for Emory after his participation in the conspiracy with IRS creating the plan for the IRS takeover of Scientology, and an advance on the crucial role he will later play in restructuring all of Scientology for that express purpose.
