DOCUMENT TITLE: First use of service mark Ser. No. 74023522, S and double triangles SUBJECT: First use of trademark Ser. No. 74023522, S and double triangles; goods and services: educational services, namely conducting courses in the fields of religion and philosophy. PARTIES: Unknown (not filed until 20 years later, by Religious Technology Center [RTC], on 29 January 1990), after the reported "death" of L. Ron Hubbard BACKGROUND AND NOTES On an unspecified date in 1972 this Scientology "S and double triangles" is first used for the goods and services category of "educational services, namely conducting courses in the fields of religion and philosophy." This is a remarkable event, since L. Ron Hubbard had been providing courses for almost 20 years using another, identical mark--Ser. No. 73409359--that covered "religious and ministerial services including pastoral counseling." So why is this extraneous "S and double triangles" suddenly being used? And by whom? This trademark will never be registered by or to L. Ron Hubbard, and no transfer will ever occur involving it. It will not even be filed for registration until almost 20 years later, in 1990, long after the reported death of "L. Ron Hubbard," solely by Religious Technology Center (RTC). But RTC's recorded "ownership" of such a mark for courses is meaningless with the key controlling marks owned by CST. We consider this important supporting evidence that L. Ron Hubbard was in fact not alive or in control of Scientology or his own interests by the time of this trademark's "first use" sometime in 1972 (if it actually was first used then), and that it was put into effect as part of the Meade Emory plan to ultimately create the fraudulent "Scientology religion." Since the exact date in 1972 of this mark's first use was intentionally left out of the registration by whoever filed it in 1990, we have placed it at 15 December 1972--several weeks after the sudden disappearance of L. Ron Hubbard.
